Merlin’s Tomb Release Day Set!

Remember that lovely book cover I showed you in the last newsletter for Merlin’s Tomb? I have all the ducks lined up, somehow, and our publish date is set for Friday, July 17, 2026. In a little less than 2 weeks you can continue the adventure of Esme, Kinzy and Trell! Nan Sampson and I are excited this is finally ready to go!

Honestly, it helps to read Book 1, Atahualpa’s Mummy, but that’s not completely necessary. Still, why wouldn’t you start at the beginning of their unusual partnership? So if you have yet to read Book 1, please go get that now. You can be finished in time to grab some pastries and a cup of tea as you get ready to read Merlin’s Tomb.

Ebook and print will be released the same day for Merlin’s Tomb, but ebook readers can preorder Merlin’s Tomb on Amazon until then. Print book readers can order the book on the 17th.

I am celebrating with a bit of dark chocolate fudge I picked up at the Huntley Farmer’s Market last Saturday. I have waited all this time as I overcame certain hurdles in our publishing process. The fudge is creamy smooth and delicious. (But quiet now, I must hide it from Trell. There isn’t enough to share.)

I am proud of what I’ve accomplished this past week, so yes, I need a second piece of fudge for updating The Harrogate Chronicles series page on Amazon, and all the other forms and such needed when you publish. I also looked at a steampunk event in September and put in for a vendor table. By then we should have Book 3, Aztalan’s Idol, out as well. This will be my first time with an author table if we are accepted, and we are brainstorming what other fun things we can have at the table for those who love our stories. If you have ideas of other ways to promote our books, just let me know. Unless you are an AI. Then just stop sending me these fake letters.

The September event is the Fox Valley Steampunk Festival taking place September 12th, 2026 from 11am-5pm in South Elgin, Illinois. Come find us and say hello to Trell!

Last, but not least, I finally have those pics from the Chicago Steampunk Expo. Our fun time with the queen of the mermaids and her rabbit friend, who almost had me ready to jump right in that pool with the other mermaids…hmmm, those pictures don’t seem to be here. I swear there were mermaids in the pool! Hmph. Last is Nan and I waving as we are ready to cut the rope and head home in our hot air balloon.

Remember–Friday July 17th! Merlin’s Tomb Release Day! It’s back to work for us on Book 3, and we hope to have that out in August, no later than beginning of September. Check out the links for the events and the books, and be sure to subscribe to SusanWachowski.com, or join my Author Page on Facebook, to hear more about the craziness of publishing and news about these and other books.

Happy Reading, Everyone!
