Book 3, Aztalan’s Idol is Released!

Aztalan’s Idol is finally released into the wild, print and ebook, and I almost missed it! Life threw me some curves, and as usual there was little time to do The Things authors are supposed to do. You know– post and newsletters and such. So you get them today.

Nan and I are proud of this story, a culmination of many years of work together, and we hope that if any of you out there like it as well, you will leave a review somewhere. Amazon, Goodreads, tell your best friend, but please share your thoughts on our books so other people will notice that this may be a series they’d enjoy.

Yes, you read that right. Goodreads! I finally have an author page there now. Not sure what to do with it, but I finally fixed the snafu that kept denying me. See you on Goodreads!

My mother has been quietly reading it out on the back deck in the warm weather, and yes, I know she occasionally falls asleep, but she does that anyway. She just finished Merlin’s Tomb and when I told her I had the author copy of Aztalan’s Idol that I could give her right now, her smile brightened my day. I will take it to her after I get this newsletter done. She has told me how much she loves these books, and I am blessed that she is here to say it. And if she didn’t like it she would straight up tell me, so don’t be thinking she says that just cuz she’s my mom. Next I have to teach her about leaving reviews. Had a cousin tell me she loves them too, last night. It bolsters an author’s ego, it does!

Next in this series, I’m working on a short story/novella about Trell choosing Kinzy as his bond. It’s like his voice remains in my head and I cannot get the sarcasm to go away whenever I make a misspell, or change something, or even think about mentioning food. Do other authors get stuck with a character like this? Kinzy just nods and smiles, sometimes wicked, sometimes commiserating, most times encouraging. But Trell.

(See?! I just put two spaces after a period and his head lifted from his nap to stare at me.)

I will continue to work on the story, and will double check some of the other story ideas, but I must really work on my cozy murders/mysteries series too. This past week I chose to pivot the story and add some more to it that I hadn’t planned, but that is Life. It has it’s own ideas of what’s next. So I will be finishing book 2 of Sunset Lake soon, (I don’t dare put an actual time deadline on it!), which is set around the Country Thunder event up in Wisconsin in the next month I hope. (okay, yeah, I set a deadline. Cracking Knuckles.) Then I eagerly await digging more into book 3, which will focus on the Ren Faire. I just can’t figure out it’s title yet. It will come to me eventually, you know, at like 4am when I am awake and the brain won’t be quiet. And yes, Trell is right there as I write my cozy mystery, even though he is not there.

So the 3 books of our main series, The Harrogate Chronicles, are out now, and I am hoping you help spread the word. Writing continues on other projects, and my friends have some new books coming out as well. I will start talking about them next newsletter.

For now, I need to get my mom the next book, while there is still light out on the deck, and make some homemade pizza for tonight. (No, Trell, I am not putting anchovies on my pizza. No mushrooms either.) Yes yes, and change the banner on my website and FB page.

Good Reading to you all! (write a review pls!)
